This will be GG's last post as now the focus is on Lila.......it's been a year already & Gracie has adjusted very nicely, altho Lila has intimidated both she & Pate thus far. When the "beast " is out - they come out of their security spots & check out her crate etc. BUT when the back door opens - they scatter !! Presently, GG is calmer than Pate when Lila glares @ her over the gate in the hall - altho - she has blown up double her size more than once !!
Gracie enjoying some fresh air on our last warm day :)
She has remained by Trev's side even when we were redoing his room - painted the walls & ceiling & pulled up the carpet - she was not going to leave her beloved cat tree - even when it was placed in the hall for hours @ a time!
The smells did not bother her in the least.....
She enjoys Trev's new linens too.....
All in all, she has remained sweet, affectionate & loving - Pud would be very proud :)

Another Cousin??
I would like you to meet Buster - my sister's 6y/o Shih Tzu mix . He is quite the quirky lil character...... yet...... was an absolute pleasure staying w/ us last week when his family was enjoying Disney-world. He arrived w/ all his worldly possessions - foods, bedding, leash, gate & most importantly - instructions on his daily routine. Too bad he never read them!!
Now there is a face only his Mom can love &......her sisters :)
He & his cousin had no problems what so ever sharing the creature comforts - notice Bust has his own pillow for relaxing on. The funny part was - it matched my decor beautifully !
The first thing I noticed @ our new house guest was his ability to take slumber either on the couch, floor or love seat....whenever he desired.
He had our 2 cats pretty intimidated in the beginning :
That's Payton who he had just chased over the barricade!!
Having successfully rid the room of Pate - he now wanted to harass Gracie - who was safely sequestered in Trev's room :)
When the cats refused to co-operate ( come back out so he could chase them ) - he returned to the couch.
Trev was nice enough to snap this photo when I sat down - they both jumped up @ the same time - no competition w/ this group!!!
We enjoyed time outside - I did yard work, Festus grazed & Buster supervised.
There were some barking issues in the corner - yep - the same one Dudley loudly claimed. I corrected him only 3 times & it was no longer an issue. Sorry, Duds....you took MUCH longer.
Buster could NOT figure out what the heck Festus found SO appealing in the grass!!!
When walking my guest....I was surprised he......tried to chase cars ( corrections given ) ......lunged @ people walking by ( that was remedied by asking peeps NOT to look @ him, talk to him or try & touch him).....&.....that he was slower than molasses!!! He started out great - BUT came to a very slow crawl a lot sooner than his 14y/o cousin!!! I looked a sight w/ Fest way in front of me & Buster way behind me. Plus.......one of my neighbors asked me why I was walking a dog w/ a broken leg???
As you can see.....his right leg is flawed ( he was born that way ) but he got around just fine....unless you are out for a walk :)
By mid week, the cats had had enough of his chasing & stood their ground - Pate was the first to revolt.
And Gracie opted for higher ground & preferred the kitchen table.
Some other lil quirks noted were......when I did my yoga on the floor...he jumped off the couch & rubbed his head all over mine like a cat weaving back & forth! He also did this when we were sitting in the screened in porch & he jumped on my lap - Bru simply looked @ us & stated , " I think you two have bonded " :)
He was not motivated by food in the least- but I discovered if I placed his wet food in the micro wave for a few seconds & enhanced the smell - he became very interested. Sometimes I would prepare it in advance & just place his bowl on the counter to entice his nose - worked like a charm :))
.
I also noticed that he was VERY respectful of the thresholds of the door leading to the back yard. He liked to be " invited " to go out & always waited for Fest to go out first. Quite the gentleman :)
My favorite Buster times were early in the morning ( 5 am ) when he would greet me doing the wave - sitting up on his hind quarters waving his front legs up & down. It was quite the love fest :)
The final photo is one I took while I was cleaning Friday morning - I had removed the vacuum cleaner from the closet & low & behold - he walked right in & was out like a light!!
Bust - you are welcome back any time - we all miss you - well.... maybe not the felines....but ....definitely the humans !!

Fresh Air??? Oh Yeah!!
It took me a while to figure out that Gracie wanted in the garage / screened in patio / or just outside & NOT to run away - whew!!! Trev bought her a lil black harness to keep her safe & she now waits on the top of the dryer ( sound familiar ?) for him to put it on her....too funny :)
Here she is stretching her lil heart out in the garage......
Now, she has discovered the screened in porch - she had spent time out there last fall.
Missy Miss w/ her beloved handler Trevor....
Taking in the wonderful sunshine & smells abundant in the back yard.
She's just loving it :))
Lastly, Cuz Festus checking her out - Pate is not quite so brave & only lasted 30 seconds in the screened in porch !!!

Gracie & the Remodel.....
We are presently having my 1/2 bath - aka - stable get a face lift & Gracie Grace is being much braver during the process than Payton!!! She is out & about all day - whilst her cousin is hiding from all the noise & clutter. She wants to practically assist the gentleman who is doing the work...... and may I add - she is flying around w/ the greatest of ease :)) The weather yesterday was almost 70, so every window was open & she jumped up & enjoyed all of them!!!
Her Majesty sitting on HER throne :)
Pate had been hiding behind the couch.......
Gracie checking out the sub floor & the funny lil hole that some how appeared :)
Both doors to the stable were open & she loved going around & around!!
This morning - early - she was up & moving & I was fortunate to get a shot of her taking in the warm air....sadly it's getting cooler by the hour :(
This is what she saw.....kinda eerie if you ask me.
I just wonder - if some how - she associates this remodel w/ the ones Pud had done in Chillicothe & there is some kind of comfort??? Her activity level has really spiked these last few days & Pate's has been subdued .....hmmm.......wonder what else we can have done :))

Oh, That GG.....
Lately Gracie is being VERY sneaky & will scare the bee gees out of you by simply appearing out of no where!! I swear sometimes I see her sound asleep on Trevor's bed & WHAM she's on the kitchen counter evaluating my dish washing skills :)
Here she is checking out the dinner menu :(
Next thing I know - she's almost next to me!!
I had rec'd a bouquet ( along w/ other prezzies - thank you Bru ) for Valentine's Day - GG never got on the table!
Until - you guessed it - I put Pud's plant back on the table - it really is uncanny!
This is also where we find Miss G - waiting for that back door to open - do you think she's trying to tell us something??

Gracie Loves Her Kitchen....
Just when you think GG might revisit the thought of being complacent living in Trev's bedroom - she literally seems to pop up! I was busy doing the dishes & noticed something in my peripheral vision. When I turned my head .... there was Missy Miss staring back @ me!! Too funny......
Then she headed for the phone - to reach who I wonder??
Where was Payton you might ask?
Resting comfortably w/ his mouse & milk ring close enough to keep an eye on....... in Gracie's tunnels from Chillicothe :))
She got a lil thirsty on her trek & stopped to take a sip.
